Alberta’s Environmental min. on her gov’t bringing Ottawa to court over regulations – May 1, 2025

On Thursday, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith announced that her government will be taking Ottawa to court, challenging its clean energy regulations act to get it struck down on the grounds of Constitutional overreach. Alberta’s Environment and Protected Areas Minister Rebecca Schulz tells CPAC’s Michael Serapio her government is bringing Ottawa to court over its clean energy regulations because “it’s unachievable,” and adds that “the technology does not exist” to reach the desired outcome.
