Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Pierre Poilievre, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, released the following statement on Easter:

“Today, Canadian Christians from coast to coast to coast celebrate the most sacred day of their year. For two millennia, the story of Christ’s victory over death has brought hope and comfort to billions across the world.

“This year is particularly significant, as Christians of nearly all denominations observe their central holiday on a common date.

“As families gather to celebrate together with traditions and recipes brought from all corners of the world, we pause to reflect on the central message of the Christian faith: that ‘the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not’.

“On behalf of Canada’s Conservatives, I want to wish everyone celebrating a very joyous and bright Easter.

“Christ is risen!”
