Advocates call on party leaders to make health-care key issue in election debate – April 14, 2025

At a news conference in Ottawa, a group of public health-care advocates call on party leaders to use the upcoming election debate to explain their plans for improving medicare. In particular, the group is highlighting the importance of universal pharmacare and dental care, as well as funding for and enforcement of the Canada Health Act.

In attendance are Anne Lagacé Dowson (Canadian Health Coalition), Amanda Black (Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada), Frédérique Chabot (Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights), and Steven Staples (Canadian Health Coalition).
