
Advocacy groups present election priorities, launch “Vote for Rights” campaign – April 9, 2025

Representatives from six civil-society organizations hold a news conference in Ottawa to outline their priorities for the April 28 federal election. The event marks the launch of Vote for Rights, a non-partisan campaign spearheaded by the groups that aims to empower Canadians to defend their rights during the election and beyond.
In attendance are Georgina Alonso (Canadian Network for Corporate Accountability), David Matsinhe (Amnesty International Canada), Lisa Gue (David Suzuki Foundation), Michèle Biss (National Right to Housing Network), Diana Sarosi (Oxfam Canada), and Kelsey Gallagher (Project Ploughshares).
