Liberal Leader Derides Locking Up Fentanyl, Firearm, Human Traffickers

Ottawa, ON – The lost Liberal decade has unleashed a wave of crime and chaos in our streets. Violent crime is up 50%. Gang murders are up 78%.  Car theft is up 45%. Human trafficking is up 83%. And extortion is up an eye-watering 357%.

Yet Mark Carney’s campaign has expressed opposition to keeping mass fentanyl, firearm and human traffickers behind bars for life.

This is because Mark Carney has a radical plan to make our streets less safe.

Don’t just listen to us.  Hear it straight from Carney and his candidates.

Mark Carney

Said nearly 50,000 Canadians dead of opioid overdoses didn’t amount to a crisis

Gregor Robertson, Fraserview-South Burnaby

Oversaw a 600% increase in drug overdoses.

Said that increasing access to fentanyl and heroin “would be a lifesaving shift.”

Wrote to a House of Commons Committee stating that the “impact of the [drug injection] site on crime rates and expressions of community support or opposition should not be relevant to the Federal Government’s approval process.”

Demanded that the government needs “to provide more clean prescription opioids” advocating for the same drug that resulted in mass diversion to kids

Will Greaves, Victoria

Proposed to “defund” and “disarm” the police.

Wants to legalize hard drugs like fentanyl and heroin.

Called for more drug dens handing out taxpayer-funded opioids.

Nate Erskine Smith, Beaches-East York

“We should decriminalize all drug use and possession.”

Called for the expansion of government provided opioids: “Let’s talk about regulating a safe supply and expanding a safe supply.”

Brendan Hanley, Yukon

Pushed for more drug dens and flooding the streets with opioids

Chris Spearman, Lethbridge

As Mayor, brought in the first drug den in North America that allowed inhaling drugs on site.

Carney also appointed former Justice Minister David Lametti, who brought in Bill C-5 to reduce sentences for numerous criminals, including drug traffickers, as his senior advisor.

Mark Carney and a fourth Liberal term in office will mean more crime, more chaos, and less safety.
