OTTAWA, ON– The Conservative Party of Canada is proud to announce Allan MacMaster as the new common sense candidate in the riding of Cape Breton-Canso-Antigonish. Allan brings a wealth of experience from his time in provincial government and has proven his dedication to fighting for the people of Atlantic Canada.

MacMaster opposed the costly Liberal carbon tax from the beginning. “The only thing the carbon tax helped was the conscience of elites like Mark Carney who came up with it while jet-setting around the world and patting themselves on the back. Meanwhile, the rest of us continue to suffer with the tax that adds 23 cents to every litre of gas we need to buy,” said MacMaster.

“People are hungry for change, they want a more self-reliant Canada that protects resources like our seafood industry, and waves goodbye to a government that is overbearing and out of touch,” said MacMaster.

After 9 years of Carney-Trudeau Liberals, hardworking Canadians are struggling just to afford fuel, food, and shelter. Only a Common Sense Conservative government led by Pierre Poilievre will put Canada first and axe the tax, build the homes, fix the budget and stop the crime. We know Allan will be a tremendous advocate for the hardworking people of Cape Breton-Canso-Antigonish and a valuable asset to the team.
