Intercultural Competence workshop with Dr. Rani Srivastava

This interactive workshop introduces intercultural competence as a core skill for navigating diversity and creating inclusive, positive environments.

We will examine the foundational concepts of culture, identity, privilege, and marginalization.

Participants will have an opportunity to reflect on their own cultural identity including associated privilege and marginalization and its impact on day-to-day interactions.

We will also identify approaches to move beyond awareness to action.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand the dynamic concepts of culture, cultural identity and the associated influences on day-to-day interactions.
  • Examine culture as patterns and culture as power.
  • Identify the awareness, knowledge, skills and resources needed for intercultural competence.
