PM Trudeau and ministers speak following cabinet shuffle – December 20, 2024

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ministers speak with the media on Parliament Hill as the federal cabinet holds a meeting following a shuffle of the Canadian ministry. The prime minister announced changes to his ministry following a week of political developments precipitated by Chrystia Freeland’s sudden resignation as finance minister on Monday. Trudeau makes a brief statement and Ministers David McGuinty (public safety), Gary Anandasangaree (Crown-Indigenous relations, northern affairs, minister responsible for the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency), Darren Fisher (veterans affairs, associate minister of national defence) and Marc Miller (immigration) respond to questions from reporters.
