MPs comment on NATO Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, Air Canada baggage changes – December 5, 2024

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons. Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly discusses the NATO Foreign Ministers’ meeting she just attended in Brussels. Joly also faces questions on Amnesty International’s new report that accuses Israel of committing genocide in Gaza.

Transport Minister Anita Anand and Bloc Québécois MP Xavier Barsalou-Duval comment on Air Canada’s decision to charge for carry-on baggage on some basic airfares.

NDP MPs Heather McPherson and Peter Julian speak about a motion introduced by McPherson on abortion rights and reproductive healthcare. They also respond to questions on the Amnesty International report.

NDP MP Blake Desjarlais comments on decorum in the House of Commons.
