NDP-Liberal Coalition And Bloc Vote To Keep Trudeau’s Wacko Plastic Ban

Ottawa, ON – Today, the NDP-Liberal costly coalition and the Bloc voted against Common Sense Conservative Bill C-380 that would’ve repealed Justin Trudeau’s wacko plastic ban.

Trudeau’s nonsensical plastic ban lists all plastic-manufactured items as “toxic.” After it was introduced, a federal court ruled that this ban had violated the constitution. But Justin Trudeau and his supporters in the NDP and the Bloc simply didn’t care.

This Conservative Bill would have allowed Canadians to save more at the grocery store. It also would’ve protected Canadians’ freedom to choose products which work best for them. This is crucial at a time when Justin Trudeau’s carbon tax has forced families to spend $700 more on groceries than they did last year with food prices increasing 36 percent faster in Canada than it has in the United States.

This unscientific plastic ban will only make food more expensive while shortening the shelf life of products. This would hit Canadians every time they go to a restaurant or a grocery store. But the NDP and Bloc decided to team up to protect Justin Trudeau again.

Instead of prioritizing banning plastic straws, the NDP-Liberal coalition and the Bloc should focus on making food more affordable for Canadians. It’s clear that only Common Sense Conservatives will bring home lower prices by axing the carbon tax and repealing Trudeau’s plastic ban.
