Retailers in the 200 Block of Victoria Street Support Christmas Cheer in Kamloops
Kamloops, BC — The 200 block of Victoria Street is embracing the holiday spirit with a special two-day event designed to celebrate the season and support local charities. On December 6th and 7th, visitors can enjoy entertainment, festive sales, and delicious Christmas treats, all while helping to raise funds for the Christmas Cheer Fund, which benefits three vital Kamloops charities.
Known for their personal, boutique-style shopping experiences, the retailers of the 200 block are creating an old-time shopping atmosphere where customers are treated like family. With a mix of local businesses uniting for a great cause, shoppers can find unique holiday gifts while contributing to a meaningful community initiative.
The event is spearheaded by Mario Pietramala of Fratelli Foods, who shares, “In our opinion, this is the most giving block in Kamloops. The camaraderie amongst the shopkeepers is second to none, and we do events like this two or three times a year!”
Adding to the fun, don’t miss the Downtown Holiday Shop Hop. Shoppers can collect stamps for purchases at participating local businesses, and once they’ve collected five stamps, they’ll be entered to win $500 in gift cards to Downtown Kamloops!
The BC Interior Community Foundation will also be part of the celebration with its Christmas Cheer Donation Station at 250 Victoria Street. Community members are encouraged to stop by to contribute to the Cheer Fund. As a special thank-you, the BCICF Cheer-Leaders will be offering a festive photo opportunity for all donors. While dropping off your donation, you can take a holiday photo that will be emailed to you—a cheerful keepsake to mark your generosity.
This December, experience the festive spirit of the 200 block of Victoria Street while making a difference. Whether you’re shopping for loved ones, donating to the Cheer Fund, or snapping a holiday photo, there’s something for everyone.
Come down and see why this block is truly “worth the wander!”
Christmas Cheer: Funds raised during the event will directly benefit the Christmas Cheer Fund, an initiative of the BC Interior Community Foundation dedicated to supporting organizations that assist those in need. This year, the Fund will support:
- Y Women’s Emergency Shelter – Providing safety and support for women and children escaping violence.
- Centre for Seniors Information – Secret Santa Program – Delivering essential items and in-home visits to remind isolated seniors they are not alone.
- BGC Kamloops – Journey Program – Offering trauma therapy for families who cannot afford clinical support.
