B.C. First Nations raise concerns over phase-out of open-net salmon farming – November 28, 2024

At a news conference in Ottawa, First Nations leaders share the results of a new report on the potential costs to Canada if salmon farming is forced to pull out of British Columbia.

Earlier this year, the federal government imposed a deadline for the sector to transition away from open net farms in coastal waters to closed containment systems by 2029.
