François-Philippe Champagne, the minister of innovation, science and industry, announces an investment of $79.1 million under the federal government’s Strategic Innovation Fund to advance 5G technologies for next-generation telecommunications networks.
Joining him at the news conference in Ottawa are Jeanette Irekvist (president of Ericsson Canada), Börje Ekholm (president and CEO of the Ericsson Group), Jenna Sudds (minister of families, children and social development), Mark Sutcliffe (mayor of Ottawa), Yossi Cohen (president and CEO of Ericsson North America), and Signe Burgstaller (ambassador of Sweden to Canada).
