MPs comment on Brampton temple protests, housing accelerator fund – November 5, 2024

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau comments on the protests and violence that have taken place over the past few days at the Hindu Sabha Mandir temple in Brampton, Ontario.

Ministers Bill Blair (defence) and Jean-Yves Duclos (public services) discuss the federal housing accelerator fund and Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre’s pledge to cut the program if his party forms government.

NDP MP Alexandre Boulerice responds to questions on the lawsuit being filed by a Quebec civil rights group against the Supreme Court of Canada over the court’s refusal to translate its decisions prior to 1970 into French. He also comments on the federal government’s policy regarding Israel and the Palestinian territories.
