More than two billion people will vote in 2024, according to the World Economic Forum. This leads to growing concerns about the use of artificial intelligence in the electoral process.

Karim Bardeesy, Executive Director of the Dais at Toronto Metropolitan University and Taylor Owen, Founding Director of the Centre for Media, Technology and Democracy at McGill University, describe how AI can contribute to the proliferation of disinformation during an election.
