PM Trudeau speaks about investigations into crime linked to Indian government – October 14, 2024

In Ottawa, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau holds a news conference to discuss Global Affairs Canada and the RCMP’s investigations into criminal activity occurring in Canada with alleged connections to the Indian government. Also speaking are Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly and Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc.

The federal government announced earlier in the day that it has expelled six Indian diplomats and consular officials who police allege were involved in a targeted campaign against Canadian citizens. Shortly afterward, the Indian foreign ministry announced it was expelling six Canadian diplomats.
