An act of civil disobedience turns into a standoff with police when homeless people in Cincinnati take over the public library to seek shelter from the bitter cold.

Join us for a special free screening of The Public on October 20th at 2:30 p.m., hosted by the Thompson-Nicola Regional Library (TNRL) in celebration of Library Month and the TNRL’s 50th anniversary!

This inspiring film shines a spotlight on the vital role libraries play in our communities, showcasing the compassionate work of librarians who go above and beyond to support underserved populations. Before the screening, we’ll have a brief chat about library month, our anniversary and what the library means to our community.

After the film, join us in the lobby for cake and conversation to mark this special milestone. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate libraries and their impact on our community
