To celebrate Women’s History Month, the TRU Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism has invited Judge Michelle Stanford, the first Black woman to serve as a bencher in Kamloops, to speak at a lunch and learn event on Friday, Oct. 18.

Stanford was appointed to the BC Provincial Court in 2021, after a 27-year career as an administrative and criminal lawyer. Many of her clients had mental-health issues and she was involved with establishing a mental-health court in Kamloops. She is contributing to the economic landscape of Kamloops in extraordinary ways.

The lunch and learn is open to all. Seating is limited, so registration is required by Friday, Oct. 11.

Date: Friday, Oct. 18
Time: Noon – 1 p.m.
Place: OM 3782
Register: tru.ca/whmll

This event is sponsored by the School of Nursing.
