Conflict in Lebanon, Bloc’s demands for govt’s survival – September 25, 2024

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons. The prime minister, Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly and NDP MP Alexandre Boulerice comment on the federal government response to the escalating conflict in Lebanon and the deaths of two Canadians on the ground in the country.

Trudeau and Employment Minister Randy Boissonnault react to the alleged homophobic comments that were made by a member in the House of Commons during question period.

Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault, Public Services Minister Jean-Yves Duclos, Immigration Minister Marc Miller, Liberal MP Anthony Housefather as well as Green Party Leader Elizabeth May and MP Mike Morrice respond to questions on Bloc Quebecois’ policy demands to ensure the survival of the minority Liberal government. Earlier in the day, Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet demanded “irreversible implementation” by October 29 of Bloc private members bills C-319 (Old Age Security) and C-282 (supply management) to prevent the defeat of the government.
