Le programme fédéral de rachat d’armes à feu a coûté jusqu’à maintenant 67M$, bien qu’il n’en ait récupéré aucune arme depuis sa création il y a quatre ans, selon des données obtenues par le leader de l’opposition au Sénat, Donald Plett. Le ministre Dominic Leblanc a néanmoins déclaré jeudi au Sénat que son gouvernement était « sur le point de lancer le programme ». Toutefois, le mise en branle du programme pourrait être compromise par des élections fédérales hâtives.
