Trudeau Has One Week To Comply With Vote And Give Green Slush Fund Documents To RCMP
Ottawa, ON – After nine years, Justin Trudeau is not worth the corruption. This has never been clearer after the Liberal Government refused to table documents in Parliament so the RCMP can investigate the corruption at his Green Slush Fund, even though a majority of MPs in the House of Commons voted to compel the Liberals to release them.
By doing this, Trudeau is clearly trying to hide the extent of his government’s corruption from Canadians. Already, the Auditor General found that his Green Slush Fund officials were sending taxpayer money to their own companies and the Ethics Commissioner found Trudeau’s handpicked Green Slush Fund chair to have broken the law.
Earlier this summer, the Auditor General found that directors had “awarded funding to projects that were ineligible, [and where] conflicts of interest existed.” In total, $123 million worth of contracts were found to have been given inappropriately, with $59 million being given to projects that never should have been awarded any money at all.
On top of this, the Auditor General found that over $330 million in taxpayer money was paid out in over 180 cases where there was a potential conflict of interest, with Trudeau-appointed directors funneling money to companies they own.
As a direct result of this, Canada’s Ethics Commissioner ruled in July that Trudeau’s handpicked chair of the Liberals’ $1 billion Green Slush Fund, Annette Versheruen, broke the law. The Liberal Government were warned about Versheruen’s conflicts but decided to appoint her to this position anyway.
Enough is enough. Trudeau must comply with Parliament and table the Green Slush Fund documents so the RCMP can investigate his corruption. Common Sense Conservatives will give Trudeau one more week to table these documents or further measures will be taken to give Canadians the transparency they deserve.
