Federal and B.C. govts sign child services agreement with Gwa’sala-Nakwaxda’xw Nations

A signing ceremony is held in Port Hardy, B.C., to mark an agreement restoring jurisdiction over family and child services to the Gwa’sala-Nakwaxda’xw Nations.

In attendance are Chief Leslie Walkus and council members of the Gwa’sala-Nakwaxda’xw Nations, as well as federal Indigenous Services Minister Patty Hajdu and British Columbia Family Development Minister Grace Lore. (September 12, 2024)
