NDP pushes to end to unpaid work for flight attendants « Canada’s NDP

NDP Infrastructure and Communities critic Bonita Zarrillo made the following statement:

“Every hour worked should be an hour that you’re paid. But that’s not the case for flight attendants in Canada, who are predominantly women. They’re working 35 hours a month unpaid, and this unpaid work won’t fly.

Air Canada alone made 2 billion dollars last year off the backs of unpaid work – this is corporate greed. For decades the Liberals and Conservatives let rich CEOs’ profit from this abusive practice. They are no friends of workers. New Democrats will never stand in the way of workers. We are fighting for flight attendants to be paid for all the work they do and want to see changes to Canada’s Labour Code.”
