Submissions Open for the 2024 KISS Fest – The Kamloops Film Society
May 1, 2023
Missed out on having your short film playing on the big screen at the 2023 Kamloops Film Festival and the KISS Film Fest? The KFS is now accepting submissions for the 2024 Kamloops Independent Short Shorts Film Festival!
For years, the Kamloops Film Society has been encouraging local filmmakers through KISS. Talented local directors and the audience are annually treated to the excitement of seeing 5 minute long (or shorter) films on the big screen at the Paramount Theatre as part of the Annual Kamloops Film Festival. Cash prizes for winners are awarded by the KISS Committee, the Thompson-Nicola Film Commission, and the Kamloops Arts Council. This event is our way of celebrating the hard work and passion of our regional talent, and celebrating the short film format.

Kamloops Film Society
The Kamloops Film Society is the umbrella organization that operates the Paramount Theatre and runs two main events: The Thursday Film Series and the annual March Kamloops Film Festival, which includes the Kamloops Independent Short Shorts Festival. The KFS has been operating for over 45 years and was officially incorporated under the BC Societies Act on August 17, 1994. In the spring of 2019, The Kelson Group purchased the Paramount Theatre and leased the venue to the KFS. The support of The Kelson Group and Ron Fawcett has made the venture possible as The KFS continues to make the theatre a cultural venue.
