North Vista Hike – Kamloops Trails
On a snowy and cold winter day we hiked a loop route starting at the Doc Findlay Trailhead in Kenna Cartwright Park. Our route was across the northeast shoulder of Mt. Dufferin, an sidehill area of sheltered douglas fir forest.
Along the North Vista Trail are a series of viewpoints to the north and east overlooking the benchland trails of Bunker Road and beyond to the Thompson River Valleys.
Some of the moments of the snow stomp are captured in a short video:
We enjoyed the route – Upper Doc Findlay – Upper Doug Daws – North Vista – Ruffed Grouse – Ponderosa – Upper Doc Findlay. There are many variations possible. In winter we usually follow the stomped in trails, where possible.
