The Pillar Trail – Kamloops Trails
Pillar Lake Provincial Park is located on the Chase Creek Road between Falkland and Chase. The main attraction is a a conglomerate stone pillar in the forest above Pillar Lake. On a September day i paddled Pillar Lake, parking at the Rec site on the shoreline. Directly above the parking area is the signed trailhead. The trail climbs the hillside on the east side of the lake.
Switchbacks take hikers up the slopes right to the pillar.
The official end of the trail is at the pillar, but informal trails go above for more views.
A hike up to the pillar and back is about 30 minutes so it would be good to combine the hike with another exploration in the area.
Pillar Lake itself is a lovely spot. A paddle around the lakeshore is about 5 km, making a good combination with the hike up to the pillar.
