On Butterfly Marshes – Kamloops Trails

Doug Smith  March 22, 2022 at 9:00 am

On a mild late winter day I snowshoed into the Butterfly Marshes, an areas seldom explored at the far south end of the Bush Lake system. There is an access road near Stake Lake, but there is no parking there until late in winter. I ventured along the access track, then onto the marshes. My plan was to visit an old trapper’s cabin, then do a loop route across the marshes and back through the forest.

Along the way I recorded some video using a GoPro and a drone, as well as a few photos:

It was a bit windy to get any real drone footage so I will wait for a better day to return to the Butterfly Marshes.
