Hull Hill Loop - Kamloops Trails

Hull Hill Loop – Kamloops Trails

On a cool winter day I snowshoed an eclectic route in the Hull Hill area, mostly following user tracks, combining known and new routes through the forest.

There is room for about 6 vehicles to park on the access route to Hull Hill.    From there, various routes go in different directions, but for thi day I wanted to explore to the north side of Hull Hill so I followed the double track east past the bridge over Anderson Creek.     The plan was to continue bearing east, but I spotted a new track that went south so I decided to follow it.   After a bit, the user tracks did not continue down the double track and instead turned through a stream valley, traversing over and connecting to another know track.    Rather than break trail I followed the loop back to the main Hull Hill double track.

The whole loop went through a variety of routes:

Whenever possible I try to do a loop route, and it sometimes means connecting sections with a route through the bush, and sometimes we find interesting spots hidden from sight, like this aspen grove.

While looping back through the forest I came across an old cabin I had not seem before, located not far from the Lac le Jeune Road.

Doing the same trails over and over again has limited appeal, especially after 40 or more times, so trying new routes adds some spice to the winter season.
