Minister Miller announces $40,000,000 to expand Calgary art gallery – July 3, 2026

Marc Miller, the minister of Canadian identity and culture, holds a press conference in Calgary to announce up to $40,000,000 in federal funding for the Contemporary Calgary art gallery’s renovation and expansion project.

Also speaking are Rebecca Alty (minister of Crown-Indigenous relations), Gertrude Spear Chief (elder, Blackfoot Confederacy), Kelly Streit and Carol Ryder (co-chairs of the board of directors, Contemporary Calgary), Daryl Fridhandler (Senator for Alberta), Corey Hogan (Liberal MP for Calgary Confederation), David Leinster (CEO, Contemporary Calgary), and Tanya Fir (Alberta’s minister of arts and culture).
