Minister Fraser highlights anti-retail-theft measures in Bill C-14 – June 25, 2026

Justice Minister Sean Fraser holds a press conference in Halifax to highlight new measures against retail theft and violence targetting transit workers, which were made law in the recently-passed Bail and Sentencing Reform Act (Bill C-14).

The minister is joined by Shannon Miedema (MP for Halifax), Paul MacKinnon (chair, International Downtown Association Canada) and Marco D’Angelo (president and CEO, Canadian Urban Transit Association).
