Drivers are advised that Highway 14 (West Coast Road) between Loss Creek and Rosemund Creek will be closed to all traffic in all directions from 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, through to 8 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, to facilitate work in the area.
The closure is required to allow crews to complete emergency culvert replacement at the location. The closure site is located approximately 20 kilometres east of Port Renfrew and 50 kilometres west of Sooke. Additional work will be completed Monday through Wednesday. Drivers can anticipate minor stoppages with delays of as much as 20 minutes and are advised to plan accordingly.
An alternative route is available via the Lake Cowichan Circle Route. No through traffic will be permitted during closure periods.
Local traffic will be accommodated until the closure time, and crews will ensure the local school bus passes through prior to implementing full closure through the area.
Emergency services have been notified of the closure and have plans in place.
Drivers are advised to plan alternative routes, allow extra travel time and follow all signage and directions from traffic-control personnel.
