Federal and B.C. govts partner to build affordable housing – June 18, 2026

Prime Minister Mark Carney and British Columbia Premier David Eby hold a news conference in Vancouver to announce a new 10-year partnership to invest more than $5 billion in local infrastructure projects. The funding will support housing, health care, transit, and community development through the federal Build Communities Strong Fund.

They then face questions from reporters on FIFA results, the U.S.-Iran peace deal, and the possibility of more oil pipelines to the west coast.

They are joined by federal Housing Minister Gregor Robertson and provincial Housing Minister Christine Boyle.
