Conservatives comment on MAID expansion, Canada’s energy exports – June 17, 2026

Conservative MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as the federal party holds its weekly caucus meeting.

MPs Frank Caputo, Greg McLean, Matt Strauss, Ellis Ross, Michael Barrett, Gérald Deltell, David Bexte and Dan Albas, as well as Senator Denise Batters are asked about the forthcoming report from a special parliamentary committee examining whether the government should pause the expansion of medical assistance in dying to individuals solely suffering from a mental illness.

MPs Luc Berthold, Albas and Barrett comment on a joint statement by G7 leaders on Canada being a stable global energy provider.

MP Brad Vis speaks about the infrastructure needs in British Columbia’s Fraser Valley.
