Liberals comment on opening of Gordie Howe Bridge, high-speed rail project – June 10, 2026

Prime Minister Mark Carney, ministers and Liberal MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as the federal party holds its weekly caucus meeting.

The prime minister and Minister François-Philippe Champagne (finance) are asked about the expected opening of the Gordie Howe International Bridge between Windsor and Detroit.

Steven MacKinnon (transport, government House leader) and Champagne face questions on opposition from citizen groups and farmers over the proposed Alto high-speed rail project.

Minister Rechie Valdez (women and gender equality), as well as MPs Matt Jerenoux and James Maloney comment on the forthcoming government legislation aimed at regulating social media platforms for those under the age of 16.

MPs Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, Marcus Powlowski and Yvan Baker speak about issues ranging from the Ontario Liberal leadership race to the possible expansion of medical assistance in dying to individuals solely suffering from a mental illness.
