MPs comment on review of CRTC streaming rules, latest U.S. tariffs – 3 juin 2026

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons.

Minister Marc Miller (Canadian identity and culture) and Conservative MP Rachael Thomas comment on the government’s directive to the CRTC to review its recent decision that would require online streaming services to contribute 15 per cent of Canadian revenues toward supporting the creation of Canadian content.

Minister Patty Hajdu (jobs and families), as well as Liberal MP Kody Blois and Conservative MP Adam Chambers respond to questions on the planned 10 per cent U.S. tariffs on more than 60 countries over forced labour concerns.

Liberal MP Marcus Powlowski is asked about whether or not Canada has entered a technical recession.

On his way out of question period, Prime Minister Mark Carney wishes Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre a happy birthday.
