MPs comment on decline in economic growth, Canada-U.S. relations – June 1, 2026

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons.

Bloc Québécois MP Jean-Denis Garon, as well as Liberal MPs Rob Oliphant and Sean Casey are asked about Canada’s economic growth stalling for the last 2 quarters, which is considered by some to be a technical recession.

Garon and Oliphant also respond to questions on Canada-U.S. relations.

Conservative MP Scott Aitchison introduces Ryan Donais, founder of Tiny Tiny Homes, a non-profit that combats homelessness by providing temporary shelter to those in need.
