Wild salmon conservation organizations hold a news conference in Ottawa – May 27, 2026

Wild salmon conservation organizations from British Columbia hold a news conference in Ottawa to call on the federal government to complete its draft Salmon Aquaculture Transition Plan, which mandates a complete ban on open net-pen salmon farming by June 30, 2029.

Participating organizations include The Pacific Salmon Foundation, Watershed Watch Salmon Society, The David Suzuki Foundation, Canadian Aquafarms Inc., and Living Oceans Society.
