NAKUSP– BC New Democrat  MLA Brittny Anderson says that people who use off-road vehicle trails in the Kootenays will see improvements thanks to funding for Arrow Lakes Ridge Riders Association.

“Snowmobiling and off-roading are great pastimes here in the Kootenays, and our local rider associations are committed to not only improving the experience, but also to making sure people are safe,” said Brittny Anderson, MLA for Kootenay-Central. “I’m glad that we can support these community-led projects that help keep outdoor recreation safe.”

The Arrow Lakes Ridge Riders Association is receiving $25,000 for their Harlow Access Trail Brushing project.

This project is one of 24 receiving funding through the provincial government’s Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) Trail Fund. Projects include building and maintaining trails or promoting safe and responsible use among riders.

The fund is supported by ICBC off-road vehicle registration fees across the province. Since its beginning in 2017, more than $2.5 million has supported 184 projects throughout the province.
