The future of the Snowbirds, resource project approvals – May 7, 2026

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons.

Conservative MPs Fraser Tolmie, James Bezan and Pierre Paul-Hus comment on the future of the Canadian Air Force’s Snowbirds, which reportedly could be grounded after this season.

Conservative MPs Randy Hoback, John Barlow, Bezan, Liberal MP Gurbux Saini and NDP MP Gord Johns are asked about reports that the government is planning changes to the regulatory process to ensure resource projects are approved more rapidly.

Liberal MPs Carlos Leitão and Sophie Chatel respond to questions on whether a future referendum in Quebec might make the city of Montreal less attractive as the headquarters of a new multilateral defence bank.

Liberal MP Marcus Powlowski is asked about the forthcoming committee report on the possible expansion of medical assistance in dying to individuals solely suffering from a mental illness.
