MPs comment on some committees moved behind closed doors, Canada-Wyoming pipeline – May 1, 2026

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons.

Conservative House Leader Andrew Scheer speaks about Liberals using their majority status to move some parliamentary committees behind closed doors this week.

Conservative MPs Shannon Stubbs and David Bexte, as well as NDP MP Leah Gazan are asked about U.S. President Donald Trump’s move to authorize a pipeline that would transport Canadian crude to Wyoming. If the project moves forward, it is expected to use some pre-existing infrastructure built for the cancelled Keystone XL pipeline
