MPs comment on Canada-U.S. trade talks, Alberta-Ottawa energy deal – April 23, 2026

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons.

Conservative MP Michael Chong and NDP MP Heather McPherson face questions on the federal government’s approach to trade negotiations with the Trump administration.

NDP MP Don Davies, as well as Liberal MPs Ben Carr, Ryan Turnbull, Greg Fergus and McPherson are asked about the way forward for the federal government’s energy MOU with Alberta.
