Conservatives comment on the Liberals obtaining majority in House of Commons – April 15, 2026

Conservative MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as the federal party holds its weekly caucus meeting.

Conservative House Leader Andrew Scheer and Deputy Leader Melissa Lantsman as well as MPs Andrew Lawton, Roman Baber, Carol Anstey, Adam Chambers, John Brassard and Gabriel Hardy respond to questions on the way forward for the party now that the Liberals have attained majority status in the House of Commons.

Lawton is also asked about the government’s move to temporarily suspend the fuel excise tax.

MP Scott Reid speaks about the campaign to shut down the planned Alto high-speed rail project.
