Mark Carney has announced a temporary tax break on gas and diesel through Labour Day, a move that is expected to save Canadians between 4 and 10 cents per litre depending on the type of fuel they use. The announcement comes as Canada’s affordability challenges remain in sharp focus, from rising gas prices and broader cost of living pressures to concerns about housing and grocery costs, along with ongoing questions about the government’s pace of action and what its majority mandate means for Canadians. To discuss, Michael Serapio is joined by Rachel Bendayan, Member of Parliament for Outremont and Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister.
