BC NDP MLA Ravi Parmar says watch party events will bring people in Langford together to celebrate the men’s world cup
LANGFORD – New Democrat MLA Ravi Parmar says people will be able to watch the world cup, celebrate, and have fun at soccer-themed events for free in Langford.
“As the sports capital of Canada, Langford is ready to cheer hard for Team Canada in the Men’s World Cup,” said Ravi Parmar, MLA for Langford Highlands. “I know that our community will show up loud and proud at the watch party. This the perfect opportunity for people across BC to come together, get behind our team, and share in the pure joy of sport.”
Langford is receiving $85,000 to host a month-long celebration in the Cultural District with public match viewing.
The Province is providing $1.7 million in one-time funding to 32 municipalities, regional districts and First Nations to host free public events to ensure British Columbians throughout the province can participate in the world cup festivities through the 2026 Community Event Support Fund.
