Avi Lewis has been elected leader of the federal NDP, winning on the first ballot with 56% of the vote. Joining Marc-André Cossette and Michael Serapio are Karl Bélanger, former National Director of the NDP, Mélanie Richer, Principal at Earnscliffe Strategies and former NDP Director of Communications and Lori Turnbull, Political Science professor at Dalhousie University. Our panel reacts to the decisive result and breaks down what it means for the party’s future, including the challenges ahead. They also discuss the impact of Lewis not holding a seat in the House of Commons.
