Members of the Professional Employees Association (PEA) have voted to ratify a renewed collective agreement.
The agreement is based on the 2025 Balanced Measures Mandate and includes some additional funding to support service delivery and improve working conditions for PEA members, including changes to special compensation for overtime, shift work and standby, and providing increased indemnity coverage to ensure professionals can practise with reassurance.
The agreement between the BC Public Service Agency and the PEA covers about 1,900 people working as foresters, engineers, agrologists, geoscientists, psychologists and others throughout B.C., as well as legal counsel.
Negotiations under the 2025 Balanced Measures Mandate support government’s key priorities to protect and strengthen critical services in B.C.’s public sector, to maintain labour stability in a complex round of bargaining and to support the Province’s efforts to find operational efficiencies that preserve front-line services.
Currently, just over 220,000 people are covered by tentative or ratified agreements reached in the 2025 round of bargaining.
