Stolen Sisters Closing Circle

March 24, 2026 at 9:42 am  Education, Kamloops, News

At the Stolen Sisters Support Gathering event, TRU Indigenous Student Services, Indigenous Education, SVPR, Counselling and the Wellness Centre are collaborating to provide a safe and supportive space for students, staff and faculty.

Date: Thursday, April 23

Time: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Location: TRU Kamloops campus, OLARA

This recurring event aims to take in and process the 231 Calls to Justice from Reclaiming Power and Place: The Final Report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

Developed in response to a request from Indigenous students and after discussions with Métis and Secwepemc Elders, this event provides an avenue for potential healing and to develop, individually and collectively, a sense of agency despite Canada’s staggering rates of violence against Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people.
