12:30 ET / 9:30 PT: Groups announce initiative to advance Employment Equity Act’s modernization

In Ottawa, representatives from labour unions, human rights groups, and other organizations provide an update on progress toward modernizing the federal government’s employment equity framework.

Speaking with reporters are Ketty Nivyabandi (Amnesty International Canada), Nicholas Marcus Thompson (Black Class Action Secretariat), Nathan Prier (Canadian Association of Professional Employees), Phylomène Zangio (New Brunswick Provincial Council for People of African Descent), and Tyler Boyce (Enchanté Network).
