PM Carney and Minister Anand on Toronto synagogue and U.S. consulate shootings – March 10, 2026

Prime Minister Mark Carney speaks to reporters on Parliament Hill to comment on the three synagogue shooting in Toronto in the past week and on the shots fired earlier in the day at the city’s U.S. consulate.

Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand also reacts to the consulate shooting.

Additionally, Anand provides an update on the federal government’s efforts to assist Canadians and permanent residents leaving the Middle East amid the escalating conflict. Since March 4, more than 4,300 Canadians and permanent residents have arrived in Canada from the region.
