Premier David Eby has issued the following statement celebrating Hola Mohalla:
“Communities throughout British Columbia and around the world are coming together to celebrate Hola Mohalla, the Sikh festival of faith, courage and community.
“During this vibrant three-day celebration, people gather for prayers, hymns, meals and thrilling demonstrations of Gatka, the traditional Sikh martial art.
“Hola Mohalla is more than a festival – it’s a living expression of Sikh values: devotion, bravery and service to others.
“People of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome to join local festivities, including partaking in delicious langar (meals) in gurdwaras, reflecting the Sikh spirit of generosity and inclusion.
“Hola Mohalla is also an opportunity to recognize the Sikh community’s enduring contributions to building a stronger, more inclusive British Columbia.
“I wish everyone observing Hola Mohalla a joyful and meaningful festival.”
